I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and Masters level therapist working toward a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT). I hold degrees from both Wellesley College and Messiah University. For those who are mental health geeks, I prefer a systems approach while following a common factors ideology; translation: I borrow from different theories to find what works best for you. In other words, we work together and I adjust to you.
My goal is to provide a safe place to talk and not be a stranger. I often do 15-minute phone chats before our first session so that you can "pre-meet" me and get that initial edge out of the way. I want to help you to (re)discover your own voice, to understand your reactions, to recover a more daring, loving self – someone who is more and not less. I won't be a stranger for long because I've traveled on similar paths.
I can journey with you on your recovery however you define it – and I can help you find your voice along the way.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Kat
