About Kat
LMFT, LPC, NCC
(she/her/hers/I/we)
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (that's the "LMFT"), as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor (that's the "LPC") and a Nationally Certified Counselor ("NCC"). I hold a degree from Wellesley College and went on to earn my Master's in Family and Couple's Counseling,
Counseling is my 7th career that includes 10 different jobs and 3 entrepreneurial startups across 2 continents and 12 time zones. I am a mother of two; my lived experience informs my approach.
For those who are mental health geeks, I prefer a systems approach while following a common factors ideology; translation: I borrow from different theories to find what works best for you. In other words, we work together and I adjust to you.
My goal is to provide a safe place to talk and not be a stranger. I want to help you to (re)discover your own voice, to understand your reactions, to recover a more daring, loving self – someone who is more and not less. I won't be a stranger for long because I've traveled on similar paths. To that end (or beginning!), I often do 15-30 minute phone chats before our first session so that you can "pre-meet" me and get that initial edge out of the way.
I will accompany you on your recovery however you define it – and I can help you find your voice along the way.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Kat
